3 மாதங்களுக்கு முன்...

இடம்: சென்னை, தனியார் தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவனம்

காலை 9 மணிஅலுவலகத்தில் வேகமாய் நுழைந்து அவன் இருக்கை வந்து அமர்ந்தான் அகிலன். அமெரிக்கா வில் இருந்த வேலை நிமித்தமாக வந்த மைல் களைபடித்து முடித்து வேலைக்கு தாயார் ஆனான். அகிலன் தென்காசி அருகெய் உள்ள அந்தியூர் ரை சார்ந்தவன். சென்னை வந்து 2 வருடங்கள் ஆகிறது. ஏழை குடும்பத்தில் பிறந்து இன்ஜினீரிங் படித்து இன்று இந்த நிறுவனத்தில் மாதம் 10000 ரூபாய் வேலை. இவன் குடும்பம் ஒரு வழியாக ஏழை கரையை தாண்டும் நிலை. காலை 9:30: அதே இடம்அவனுட ப்ராஜெக்ட் லீட் அவரது அறைக்கு அவனை வர சொன்னார். "அகிலா, நம்ம ப்ராஜெக்ட் கு அமெரிக்காக்கு போய் ஒருத்தர் வேலை செய்யணும். இப்ப நம்ம ப்ராஜெக்ட் ல நீதான் கொஞ்சம் நாலெஜ் உள்ள ஆளா இருக்க...ஸொ, நீ இந்த வேலைக்கு அமெரிக்கா போன நல்ல இருக்கும் னு நான் நினைக்கறேன். உனக்கு போக விருப்பமா?" என்றார் மதன். அகிலன் னுக்கு ஒரே ஆச்சரியம். சந்தோஷமும் கூட.

"ஒரு 5 மிநிட்ஸ் ஸார்" என்று சொல்லி விட்டு உடனடியாய் தன்னிடத்துக்கு வந்தான். தொலைபேசி மூலம் தான் கிராம பண்ணையார் வீட்டிற்கு போன் செய்தான். "அய்யா நான் அகிலன் பேசுறேன். எங்க அய்யா அங்க இருக்காரா? இருந்த கொஞ்சம் பேச சொல்றீங்களா" என்று பண்ணையாரிடம் பணிவாய் கோரினான். "இரு அகிலா தரேன்" என்று தோட்ட வேலை செய்து கொண்டிருந்த முருகனை அழைத்தார்... "டே முருகா!!உன் பையன் போன் பண்ணி இருகந்..சீக்கிரம் வா" என்றார்...

குரல் கேட்டதும் முருகன் தடுமாறி தொலைபேசி நோக்கி ஓடினார். "என்னவெய் அகிலா. நல்ல இருக்கியா...என்ன திடீர்னு போனு... உடம்பு சரி இல்லையா கண்ணு" என்று கேள்வி மேல் கேள்வியாய் கவன கூற்றுகளை தொடுத்தார்... "அதெல்லாம் இல்லயா. நான் நல்ல இருக்கேன். என் ஆஃபீஸ் ல என அமெரிக்கா போக சொல்லி இருக்காங்க. அதாம்பா உடனே உனக்கு போன் செஞ்சேன். எனக்கு ரொம்ப சந்தோசமா இருக்குப்பா... இனிமே நாம யாரும் கஷ்ட பட வேணாம். யப்பா எங்க மேனேஜேர் கூபிடரார். நான் போய் அமெரிக்கா போகறேனு சொல்றேன் பா. சாயங்காலம் மா போன் பண்ணுறேன்" என்று கூறி மேனேஜேர் அரை நோக்கி விரைந்தான்.(போனை துண்டித்து விட்டுதான் :) )

முருகனுக்கு ஒன்றும் புரியவில்லை. "என்னலேய் முருகா. என்னலே விசயம்" என்றார் பண்ணையார். "அய்யா அகிலான வெளியூர் போக சொல்றாங்களாம்" என்றார். "வெளியூர் நா எங்கடா?" என்று மறுபடியும் பண்ணையார் கேட்க "எங்கயோ மெரிக்கா னு சொன்னான். புரியலைங்கய்யா" என்றார் முருகன். "அது மெரிக்கா இல்லடா அமெரிக்கா. உன் பையன் கடல் கடந்து போக போறான். இனிமே உன் குடும்பம் கூலி வேல செய்ய தேவையில்ல." என்றார் பண்ணையார்.... ஒன்றும் விளங்கா விட்டாலும் புன்னகைத்தார் முருகன். 2 நாட்கள் கழித்து... இடம்:சென்னை விமான நிலையம்"கண்ணு... ரொம்ப தூரம் போவ போற. உடம்ப பாத்துக்கு ராசா. தெனத்துக்கு போன் பண்ணு. உடம்ப பாத்துக்கோ" என்று கண்ணீருடன் கூறினார் அகிலனின் தாய். அகிலணும் அம்மா அப்பா வாய் பிரிய முடியாமல் கண்ணீர் சிந்தினான். "சீக்கிரம் வந்துடறேன் அய்யா" என்று கூறி விமான நிலையத்தின் உள் சென்றான். முருகனும் வள்ளியும் உயிர் தங்களை விட்டு விமானம் நோக்கி செல்ல கண்ணீரால் வழி அனுப்பினர்...

இன்று... இடம் : ந்யூ யார்க்

"Akilan your performance had really helped us to clear this project as a defect free one.If you wish you can continue as an employee here. You can earn millions. உன் விருப்பத்தை சொல்லு" என்றார் மேலாளர். அகிலன் இதை எதிர்பார்க்க வில்லை.

"ஸார். என் குடும்பத் விட்டு 3 மாசம் பிரிஞ்சதே ரொம்ப கொடுமையானது. இந்தியா விட்டு வந்த ஒவ்வொரு நொடியும் எப்ப திரும்பி அவங்கள சந்திப்பேனு தான் நினச்சிட்டு இருக்கேன். என்ன பிரிஞ்சி என் அப்பா அம்மா தவிச்சிட்டு இருப்பாங்க. பணம் என் வாழ்க்கையில எப்ப வேனாளும் சம்பாதிக்கலாம். ஆனா என்ன பெட்தவங்கக்கூட நான் செலவு பண்ற ஒவ்வொரு நிமிஷமும் விலை மதிக்க முடியாதது. எனக்கு இங்க இருக்க விருப்பம் இல்ல ஸார்." என்று சற்றும் தயங்காமல் அகிலன் கூறினான். "அகிலா.. உன் வாழ்க்கையில உனக்கு கெடைக்கர பெரிய வாய்ப்பு இது. தவிர்க்காத" என்றார் மேலாளர். ஸார். இங்க நான் சம்பாதிக்கறது எல்லாம் என் குடும்பத்துக்கு தான். ஆனா இங்க இருக்கற ஒவ்வொரு நொடியும் என் தாய் தந்தையோட இருக்கற நேரங்கல நான் இழக்கறேன். நான் அவங்க கூட இருக்க ஆச படரேன் ஸார். என்ன இந்தியா அனுப்ப முடியுமா ஸார் உங்களால?" என்று கண்ணீர் பெருக கோரினான் அகிலன்.

Year 2007 had been a very good year for tamil film making. Around 110 movies were released and a lot of movies had set records in terms of revenue. According to me these are the few movies which you must watch.

The * marked movies are yet to be seen by me. I will update this rankings once i see those.

Well there you go.

That is all over for India. Right from the word go, they were up against a stiff Australian side but when they took the field, they had other opponents to face as well.

On Day 1, Australia were 50 odd for 2 when Ponting was given not out by umpire Mark Benson. The Indians overcame that and had the Australians reeling at 134 for 6.

Some time later, Symonds was adjudged not out by umpire Steve Bucknor, again a clear edge which only Bucknor was unaware of.

Some more time later, the third umpire joined the party, a stumping appeal was turned down against Symonds with his foot on the line. He went onto score his career best score and with another decision going in favour of him, a stumping appeal not even referred to the third umpire by Bucknor.

Then comes the Indian innings, Jaffer was bowled off a no ball but it went unnoticed.

Then came the Aussie second innings, Hussey was caught behind but given not out. He was out lbw some time later but given not out.

Then came the final innings. Rahul Dravid was given out caught behind when the ball was nowhere close to the bat.

Ganguly was given out despite Clarke having grassed the catch twice and Dhoni and RP Singh were at the wrong end of marginal decisions.

It might seem like a case of sour grapes but had so many decisons not gone against them then perhaps India would have ended up with a 200 run first innings lead.

Decisions go wrong as to err is human but the consistency, obviousness and timing of the decisions was so much against India, that they cannot stop themselves from feeling unlucky. Australia retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as they cannot lose this series anymore and they had won the last edition. All India can do is take this match as an inspiration for them to come back hard at Australia in the forthcoming games. Before the third test begins, we have another tour match lined up starting on the 10th.

Ponting Won The Match But Lost His Dignity
